Giants Media Guides

A media guide is a book that contains factual data relative to the team it represents.  The New York Giants media guides were known in the old days as "Press, Television and Radio Guides" and, today, are known as "Official Information Guides." Despite the year published on the cover of a media guide, the information contained within the guide is from the year before - this is because media guides are produced before the season begins.  The original purpose of these guides were to assist media personnel in preparing to broadcast, provide commentary and reports on New York Giants football games.  Among the information one can find in a media guide is a broad selection of team and individual player personal and statistical information.  Nowadays, these media guides are sought after by avid sports collectors - especially the older ones!  Giants media guides were produced by two different sources:

Giants Official - collection of official New York Giants media guides produced exclusively by the New York Football Giants organization.

TGN - collection of New York Giants media guides produced by The Giants Newsweekly newsletter.  The Giants Newsweekly issued media guides from 1983 through 1994.
